Writers' Competition

To encourage the art of writing,
we hold an annual competition.
The categories include poems or short stories by:
* Students in Grades 1-3 * Students in Grades 4-6
* Students in Grades 7-8 * Students in Grades 9-12 * Adults



Categories for 2013
Students in Grades 1-3

* Draw a picture and write a story about it.
Students in Grades 4-6

* Write a story (max 400 words) about your greatest adventure.
OR
Write a poem about someone you admire.
Students in Grades 7-8

* Write a story or poem (max 500 words) entitled “Celebrate”.
OR
* Write a story (max 500 words) using the following phrase:
“There was a thunderous crash ……………”.
Students in Grades 9-12

* Write a story or poem (max 500 words) entitled, “Oh, What a Beautiful Day!”.
OR
* Write a story or poem(max 500 words) entitled, “The Storm”.
Adults

* Write a story(max 500 words) entitled “Life’s Greatest Adventure”.
OR
* Write an essay or poem (max 500 words) about who has had the greatest influence in your life.
Entry Information
Deadline for entries: Sat. May 24, 2013

Include your name, address, phone # and e-mail address (where applicable), age category, and topic.
