We’re almost there! The Marble Church Arts Centre is open for business even while the renovation work continues into the spring and summer.

The studio/gallery space
is finished and you won’t recognize it. The primary electrical work has been completed in the theatre and outside lighting is being added.
Recently, as you know, we have received two major grants. The $54,500 from the Ontario Trillium Foundation will allow us to complete most of the renovation work at the Marble Church Arts Centre.
This grant will enable us in the spring to repair the broken windows and install magnetic windows over the existing stained glass windows thus protecting them and preventing heat loss. We have also contracted with DBS Draperies in Belleville to manufacture and install drapes on the 8 windows in the theatre.
The $18,362 from the federal government's Enabling Accessibility Fund means that this summer the arts centre will be completely accessible to everyone. The barrier-free washroom has been completed and a wheelchair ramp and a paved drop-off area will be in place as soon as the warm weather arrives.
We have had some issues with the existing furnace but necessary repairs have been made.
Your board and committees have been working very hard to get the facility ready for an exciting line-up of events in 2010. The Marble Church Arts Centre is yours. Come out and get involved.
