ABOUT MARTA

Marta Mouka has a background in graphic design and ran a small graphic design studio in Toronto, before finding a home in a picturesque place near Tweed. Now, she is fully focused on creating her textile collages and jewellery.

She was always fascinated by textiles, especially silk — a beautiful and rich textile with subtle textures and an ever-changing appearance. Painting with silk was a very natural process to express her­ passion for this media. Each “painting” is designed to take advantage of silk’s chameleon properties; daytime and evening viewings have their individual allure.

Over the years her work has been featured in a number of galleries in Toronto and she participated in Tweed’s Art In The Park, 2009.
