Completion of Improvements at Marble Arts Centre- Trillium Grant

In February 2017, the Tweed & Area Arts Council (T&AAC) was awarded a $15,300 grant from the Ontario 150 Capital Program of the Ontario Trillium Foundation. The grant, combined with money from T&AAC, was used to improve the Marble Arts Centre (MAC). Over the past year, a new outdoor sign was purchased and erected; main theatre and studio windows were refurbished; water-damaged sills and the entrance foyer were repaired and repainted; the entrance to the basement was weather sealed and resurfaced; new stage lighting was purchased; drapes and control tracks were upgraded; the floor in the studio was retiled; and the main storage area upgraded. While there remains additional work to do, the funds resulted in significant upgrades to the 151-year-old facility. Thank you!
